Can you remove someone talking over someone else?
A guest talking over the vows. A bystander commenting while you're talking to camera. Someone off-screen chatting through an interview. Two voices at once, and you want to keep one and lose the other.
The short answer
The straight answer first: if the voice you want gone overlaps the voice you want to keep, SoundScrub can't do it. It splits speech from everything else, not one person from another, so it treats both talkers as the same thing. Where it does help: if the unwanted voice sits over music or room noise, and you don't need to keep any speech, Remove "people speaking" clears the voices as a group.
What it can do instead
It won't fix the problem above, but if there's also noise in the recording, this is the closest thing worth running:

- 3 Pick "people speaking" from the sound list.
- 4 Turn on "only process where detected".
- 5 Run it. You get the file back with that sound removed and the rest untouched.

Can I remove one person's voice and keep another?
No. SoundScrub separates speech from non-speech, not one speaker from another, so two overlapping voices can't be pulled apart. It treats all talking as one thing.

When the sound you want gone isn't a competing voice. Music from a speaker, room noise, a passing car, those it can take down while keeping the talking. Or when you want all the voices gone at once.
