Why this works
Remove mode with "people singing" targets the sung voice and leaves the rest. If it's a whole musical track you want gone, use "background music" instead.

Singing is still a voice, so it overlaps speech and instrumentals in ways EQ can't separate. Muting the section takes everything with it.
